2023 Charitable Contribution Receipting

Donation letters or receipts are required by the IRS for donors to claim a charitable contribution tax deduction. They also let the donor know their donation has been received. Contribution receipts help non-profits to keep an accurate record of donation history. These receipts are important for accounting purposes and vital for maintaining clear and accurate financial records.

Our first webinar in 2024 will be discussing 2023 Charitable Contribution Receipting and will be held Wednesday, January 17, 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Please note the difference in the timeframe for this webinar as it is an hour later than we have done in the past.

During this webinar we will answer and provide clarity to the following questions relating to receipting 2023 charitable contributions:

  • What is required when receipting donors for various contributions?
  • When are contributions deductible?
  • How are contributions from IRAs, stocks, vehicle, or other noncash contributions receipted differently?
  • How are out-of-pocket expenses for unreimbursed travel receipted?
  • When are restricted donations deductible and non-deductible as a charitable contribution?
  • What are special requirements for deducting benevolence, scholarship, and missionary gifts?

Note: CPE credit is available for those who attend the live webinar. CPE codes are to be submitted within 1 week of the presentation.
