Developing a Culture of Generosity

Giving is a topic many people are not comfortable hearing or discussing. Even many pastors avoid teaching about giving because it makes them uncomfortable. This is unfortunate since the Bible has many teachings and references to giving.

As we face a potentially slower economy ahead, now is the time to revisit the biblical perspective on giving and generosity. We are pleased to have Kirsten Schwartz with Generous Giving join us in our next webinar on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.

As the Director of Generosity at a large multi-site church, Kirsten built a holistic generosity culture there that yielded increased giving, improved church participation, and evidence of changed hearts. Kirsten is now the Director for Church Partnerships for Generous Giving working with churches to develop congregations that excel in the grace of giving.

Generous Giving’s mission is to spread the message of biblical generosity in order to grow generous givers. Their vision is to stir a renewed, Spirit-led commitment to generosity among followers of Christ through conversation. Here are a couple of short video testimonies from well-known leaders in the Christian community: John Mark Comer and Chris Hippe, pastor of City Central Church in Tacoma, WA.

Kirsten will be speaking from practical experience on how to inspire a culture of generosity within your church. Topics will include:

  • Role of the pastor/church in teaching generosity
  • Unique needs for financial discipleship
  • Generosity and stewardship journey
  • Different types of presentations for different types of needs
  • How to launch your generosity culture
