Remote Accounting Services – Payroll, Vendor Payables, Contribution Posting, and Monthly Board Financial Reports

We are seeking an individual who has an eye for detail, engages well with customers, and is a team player.  This job requires transferring data from multiple sources to online sites as well as creating and keeping support documentation for transactions.  Experience working with nonprofits, especially churches, would be helpful since most of the work will involve bookkeeping work for churches.  Hours are flexible but are expected to be between 30 and 40 hours per week.  Working off-site (at home) is available after being fully trained.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter data into appropriate fields
  • Transfer data from digital or paper formats via computer
  • Handle numerical data accurately; create spreadsheets
  • Summarize data for standardized reports
  • Protect confidential information and identities of clients
  • Verify data by checking and comparing source documentation
  • Organize material source files as needed

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Be comfortable using a computer in a paperless environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong math skills
  • Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize
  • Ability to analyze and assess data that is given
  • Fast and accurate typist
  • Able to use 10 key pad
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Willingness to learn and to grow with the company
  • Not afraid to ask questions and able to take correction
  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision (especially with working from home)
  • Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience as a bookkeeper preferred
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred
  • Experience in church accounting preferred

CPA Audit and Financial Statement Preparation, Tax Preparation and Client Accounting Assistance

We are currently seeking an experienced CPA to fill a position on our team with room to grow your skills in financial reporting, auditing, and tax work.  QuickBooks experience a plus and strong skills using Excel, Word, Adobe, and Outlook are necessary to job performance.  Must be comfortable using technologies that often change.  A person who enjoys learning new things and challenging work will be successful in our firm.  Must work well with a team and be willing to work overtime as client demands and deadlines sometimes require.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interact with clients on the phone, e-mail, and in person
  • Depending on experience, plan or work on financial statement compilations, reviews, and audits
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Assist clients with accounting, QuickBooks, and tax compliance
  • Individual and business tax preparation assistance
  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Review and reconcile client payroll
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations
  • Uphold the excellent reputation of our firm
  • Understand and adhere to the ethics of a CPA firm
  • Maintain communication with supervisors and clients
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve shared goals

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Minimum 1-year experience as an accountant in a corporate setting or CPA firm
  • Exceptional computer skills, including Microsoft Office and experience with tax software
  • Superior math skills and an analytical mind
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and financial statements
  • Consistent, accurate, thorough, and detail-oriented
  • Exceptional organizational skills and aptitude for numbers
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Polished phone and e-mail etiquette
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
